Welcome to the webpage of Tim Christian Kietzmann. I am a PhD student in the NeuroBioPsychology Group of Prof. Dr. Peter Koenig at the Institute of Cognitive Science, University of Osnabrueck. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

RESEARCH INTERESTS

The main focus of my research is on visual processing in the brain. This includes object recognition and classification, but also effects of overt visual attention on perceptual processes. In my work, I try to advance our understanding of the human visual system through psychophysics, neuroimaging and computational modeling. In more detail, I am interested in the different types of information represented in different stages of the visual hierarchy and the temporal aspects of information flow that allow for visual awareness. Finally, I expect computer vision algorithms to greatly benefit from an increased understanding of the robust, but sensitive capabilities of mammalian visual systems.
